Welcome to Invoiceize ("we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website invoiceize.com and the tools on it (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Invoiceize is a free online tool for creating invoices, receipts and quotes and downloading them as PDF files or printing them. The editor runs in your browser, and your documents are saved in your browser's local storage, as described in our Privacy Policy. No account is required.

The Service is currently free of charge. We may introduce optional paid features in the future; if we do, they will come with their own terms, and we will tell you before anything you use starts to cost money.

2. Your Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the content of every document you create, including names, addresses, amounts, dates, tax rates, tax identification numbers and payment details.
• The Service calculates totals from the numbers you enter. Check every document before you send it: you are responsible for its accuracy.
• Invoicing and tax rules differ by country, region and industry. You are responsible for making sure your documents meet the requirements that apply to you, such as mandatory fields, numbering or tax registration.
• Your documents are stored only in your browser. Keep your own copies (for example, the PDFs you download) of anything you need for your records. We cannot recover documents that are deleted or lost when browser data is cleared.

3. Not Tax, Legal or Accounting Advice

Templates, sample content, guides and articles on the Service are general information only. They are not tax, legal, accounting or financial advice. For advice about your situation, consult a qualified professional.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Create fraudulent, forged or misleading documents, including invoices for goods or services never provided.
• Impersonate another person or business, or use names, logos or trademarks you have no right to use.
• Break any law, including tax, consumer protection and anti-fraud laws.
• Disrupt or overload the Service, attempt to gain unauthorized access to it, or use automated means to scrape it at a scale that harms other users.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Your Content

You own the content you put into your documents and the documents you create, and you may use them for any lawful purpose. Because your documents stay in your browser, we do not receive them and claim no rights in them.

5.2 Our Content

The Service itself — its software, design, templates, text and the Invoiceize name and logo — belongs to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the templates to create your own documents, but you may not copy, resell or redistribute the Service or its templates as a product of your own.

6. Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve the Service without any obligation to you.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that documents created with it will meet any particular legal or tax requirement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Invoiceize and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including errors in documents you create and the loss of documents stored in your browser. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to US$50.

9. Changes to the Service and These Terms

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. We will try to resolve any dispute informally first; if that fails, it will be resolved by the courts of competent jurisdiction.
